  1. How do you cite a direct quote differently from a paraphrase?

Direct quotes must be in quotations and exact words. When you paraphrase you must state what is in the quotations in your own words. You must cite where you got the information in parentheses at the end of the paraphrase or quotation.

  1. Can you copy and paste information for a report from the Internet? If no, why not? If yes, how?

Yes, as long as you can cite it correctly and put it in quotations.

  1. What is a reference? What is a citation? Where do they appear?

A reference is something that comes at the end of your paper. It shows a website that you got ideas or information from. A citation is something that comes in parentheses at the end of a paraphrase or quotation and shows that you have a source for your information.

  1. For you personally, what is the most difficult part of using citations and references?

I think the most difficult part of citations is finding information on the author and date it was published. I sometimes find it hard to find this information on the website

  1. Create reference listings for:

    1. A web page of your choice

Aztec Empire. (2018, January 01). Retrieved January 04, 2018, from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aztec_Empire

  1. A picture of your choice

H. (2016, August 17). I'm Rick Harrison. Retrieved January 04, 2018, from https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-lgDcmlgGUc

  1. Create two different ways of doing an in-text citation. (Can be fictional.) 3 BONUS POINTS, but only if you complete the other questions also.

1. Putting in the author’s last name and the date it was published. Example: (Woodard, 2007).

2. You could also put the author's last name, date it was published, and a specific page. (Woodard, 2007, p. 73)

Please note: For the APA section of your final project, you can find the answers to all the questions by using the links at http://url.cailab.net/3z.

All questions are 5 points each except for the bonus question.
