  1. How do you cite a direct quote differently from a paraphrase?

For Quotes you must write exactly what the author wrote and for paraphrases you must write what you read in your own words but still have to cite it.

Yes, if the student cites the source it was found and gives the original creator credit.

  1. What is a reference? What is a citation? Where do they appear?

A reference is when you provide what you use with the citations, such as information.

A citations is when you credit the article you used to get information on.

They can appear at ends of an report or at the bottom of the page.
