  1. How do you cite a direct quote differently from a paraphrase?

A direct quote you use  quotations and usually tell the source or page number after the quotes. While paraphrasing is in your own words and direct quotes mean it came from someone directly.

2. Can you copy and paste information for a report from the Internet? If no, why not? If yes, how?

No because you are publishing someone else's work as your own

3. What is a reference? What is a citation? Where do they appear?

A reference usually comes at the end while a citation usually comes after a quote or after information.

4. For you personally, what is the most difficult part of using citations and references?

For me personally it would be organizing the references with all the citations.

  1. Create reference listings for:
    1. A web page of your choice Cain, K. (2012, June 29). The Negative effects of Facebook on communication. Social Media Today RSS. Retrieved from http://socialmediatoday.com
    2. A picture of your choice Cartier-Bresson, H. (Photograph). (1938). Juvisy, France[photograph]. New York, NY: The Museum of Modern Art.
  2. Create two different ways of doing an in-text citation. (Can be fictional.) 3 BONUS POINTS, but only if you complete the other quesitons also.

The infant should experience a warm, intimate, and continuous relationship with his mother (Bowlby, 1991).

Parental work schedules might exert an impact on child academic achievement (Vincent & Neis, 2011).
